Le Tour de Yorkshire - Leeds Sunday 6th May 2018

Few images of Le Tour de Yorkshre as it sped past Leeds on the 4th day of the race, nicknamed the Yorkshire Terrier Stage.  With  Stephane Rosotto (Team Cofidis) in the lead, it was eventually Greg Van Avermaet who scooped the overall prize.

Le Tour de Yorkshire, started after the success of The Tour de France when it came to Yorkshire in 2014, launched the 2018 Mens and Women's Race's at an event in Millennium Square, Leeds.

After being entertained by the Rock Choir, and compered by Laura Winter & Marc Chavet, some of the men and women cyclists were introduced to the crowds, including Mark Cavendish, a favourite to win the Race. Others there included Serge Pauwels, Jon Dibben, Owain Doull (who celebrated his 25th Birthday and was presented with a cake), Ben Swift, Hannah Barnes and Sophie Thackray,

Also brought out on stage were some legends of Cycling. Denise Burton-Cole (daughter of Beryl Burton), Brian Robinson and Barry Hoban. And Thomas Voeckler, himself a cycling champion arrived to large cheers from the cycling fans.

Then the Director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, along with Sir Gary Verity, Chielf Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, came onto stage. With Monsieur Prudhomme cheekily grabbing the Tour de Yorkshire trophy as he left the stage

The Race will be staged over 4 days for the Men and 2 days for the women. From 3-6 May 2018.
